Live at Chicago, CEO of Trackforce Valiant talks about the biggest security tradeshow of the year, GSX, and Trackforce Valiant’s role in the security workforce management industry.

CHUCK HAROLD
Live from Chicago, Chuck Harold securityguytv.com, asistv.org, with our next guest, what’s your name sir?

GEORGE WRIGHT
George Wright, I’m the CEO of Trackforce Valiant

CHUCK
Now, I bet you haven’t heard of the word “Trackforce” and “Valiant” together very often yet, but we will. It’s a new merger, very exciting, tell us about that.

GEORGE WRIGHT
Yeah, actually, it’s a newly formed organization, so Trackforce’s been around for about 25 years and Valiant’s been around for about 25 years, recently came together. Trackforce was acquired by a private equity company called K1 Investments in February and June 16th we acquired Valiant Technologies.

CHUCK
It’s a simple no brainer, kinda, right?

GEORGE WRIGHT
I think so

CHUCK
We have guard force management, we’re tracking guards, their digital logs, we’re using analytics and all this stuff and then we attach scheduling and payroll to it.

GEORGE WRIGHT
Exactly

CHUCK
It’s like a full service. It’s great.

GEORGE WRIGHT
Exactly. You know, It’s purpose built, it’s micro-vertical. We only focus on security, so we look at it as the only purpose built solution for security workforce management. And as you said, we’re bringing together the front end, which we like to call front-line, or the guard productivity tools. But, not just guard productivity tools, Trackforce does guard productivity but also guard safety, right, with push to talk and lone worker technology and then we bring all of that together with Valiant in the back office where we’re – being integrated, already by the way, so the company was purchased on the 16th of June, today, we’re showing full integration with the two products working together and then bringing together, you’re right, time and labor – TLM – time and labor management, so all the scheduling, the billing component, the HR component, the onboarding of new clients, the onboarding of new employees, and then making all that work seamlessly to their payroll system where we make sure the guards get paid on time. In fact, if I could, throw out a stat –

CHUCK
Yeah, yeah, we like stats

GEORGE WRIGHT
– because stats are great, right? If we look at the combined entities, right, we got 25 years of experience in the space, 1800 customers, we support 30,000 sites, we’re in 50 different countries, we have 300,000 users, and we calculate some 8 billion in payroll in an annual basis.

CHUCK
Wow.

GEORGE WRIGHT
That’s some pretty good stats, right?

CHUCK
That’s unbelievable, yeah. So, back in the day, I bought Black Berries for my guard force. And people looked at me and said ‘are you out of your mind? Black Berries? What?’ You know, I wanted to do digital logs. I didn’t want to have all those papers, read all those papers logs, right? A little bit ahead of my time. But what I found beyond the idea was that the guards weren’t ready for the technology. I got to say, right? Less than 25% of the people that worked for me had a cell phone, right? Now, we’re approaching, I think, what, 50-60% on that labor force, right? Are you finding that the technology is catching up with the users? Any, is that fairly seamless nowadays? Because I’ve been out of the guard business for a long time, I’m just curious.

GEORGE WRIGHT
Sure. So, first off, as a big Black Berry user also, love the black berry –

CHUCK
It was the best

GEORGE WRIGHT
– Yeah, In it’s time, right? So I think when you move on, first off, I think a wireless handheld device is accepted in every stage of society right now, regardless of age, right? I think there with the Black Berries, and I was there as a tech guy, but there was a fear factor, I think some folks in the industry just didn’t want to use a device like that. So now, the devices are easier to use. They truly are productivity enhancement. And when you put that in the hand of a guard, they realize, that hey, I can see my schedule, I can post an incident report, right, I understand where I’m going from a guarding perspective, from a touring perspective, right. So the usability absolutely has gone up. In fact, I was kind of mentioning today, we were talking to one of our customers, the Ohio State University –

CHUCK
Yup

GEORGE WRIGHT
– they don’t have that yet, they’re working on that. Um, and they were saying that the utilization of Trackforce, GuardTek, in the front office, or excuse me, on the front line, has increased productivity, you know, 100% basically and some of the folks that were resistant to be able to use that technology are now using it and some of the biggest fans of utilizing a mobile device to do their job. So, I think the industry itself has come forward in the acceptance of the devices here.

CHUCK
I’m excited about it. Trackforce Valiant – but do you have a new website yet?

GEORGE WRIGHT
Both websites are updated, so we’ve done that. We’ve got new content, we’ve got new branding, so if you come by our booth, we’d love to show to you. But the branding is there, content is there, we’ve got some great reference already with the combination of the products working together. So yeah, we’re all set.

CHUCK
Now, I’ll be very impressed if you remember your booth number.

GEORGE WRIGHT
Yeah, I don’t!

CHUCK
Matthias, help us out! What’s the number? Oh dude, you don’t know your own booth number? Oh, that’s not good.

GEORGE WRIGHT
1160

CHUCK
But I bet if you looked at your Trackforce phone you would find what it is.

GEORGE WRIGHT
Yeah. Exactly.

CHUCK
Look at your GPS and find out where you are.

GEORGE WRIGHT
He’s looking at it. Right over there.

BOTH
Right over there.

CHUCK
That’s where it is. Back I’m in here at GSX 2019, securityguytv.com asistv.org, thanks for coming on the show my friend.

GEORGE WRIGHT
Thank you.

CHUCK
Very nice to meet you and good luck on your venture.
